Grace and the Double life (long book review)

This story is about a girls band, The Garage Girls. The main character, Grace, had a secret from her parents: she didn't tell them she belonged to a band group. 

This is because her mother, Harriet, used to be very strict. She wanted Grace to concentrate on her music and ballet exams. 

Grace could play all the classical stuff; however, she wanted to play something new. 

One day, her friends, Zadie and Holly, invited her to a new girls band to play a bass guitar. 

It was great playing with her friend.  

At first. her mother didn't allow Grace to do band.

 The more she knows Grace's effort, the more she cheers up her child. Girls decided to send their music DVD to the TV company which held a talent contest. 

They wanted to win and dreamed of being stars!

 However, Harriet found out Grace’s secret. 

To make matters worse, Grace lost her voice on the day of the audition. 

This story is about relationship of parents and children and dream.  

 

I was a discussion reader and word mister.

I chose some difficult words and made quiz to understand more deeply.

Also I tried to let everyone talk about all topics.

 

In this literature circle, we discussed what to do if I were Grace. 

Grace had to choose between taking the piano exam or going TV contest. We had various opinion for this theme.  

 

I think Grace had to choose the piano exam.

It is because she should not ignore her mother's words.

 

We had good discussion because of everyone’s work. We hope we can do it again. 

 

Grace Daling (Long book review)

This story is about a brave woman, Grace Darling. 

I knew her for the first time in this story. 

She lived on a lighthouse with her parents. 

One day, the sea was wild and angry, and dangerous.  

There was a ship named Forfarshire, which was big, comfortable, and modern. 

However, the wind was getting stronger and all the time the big gray waves lifted the Forfarshire up and down, and white water blew over the deck so the engine broke down! 

In lighthouse, there are father and mother and their daughter.

The daughter was a very kind child and was observing the ship in a storm all night long.

Grace saw many people have drowned so she and her father decided to save them.

However, it's too dangerous to go to help.

Therefore, her mother stopped her go to dangerous sea.

In spite of her mother’s opposition Grace and his father went out, and they returned with nine passengers. 

 

I was a discussion reader and made effort for good meeting.

 

We had some subject for discussion. 

First, “if you were the mother of Grace, would you allow your daughter to go out to sea?” 

All members of Rainbow team answered “No”. 

My reason is that. 

The work of mother is protecting own children I think. 

 

Second, “this story has some similar points for “Titanic”. 

(Connecter said,) For example, the Forfarshire in the book was the largest luxury cruise ship at the time, as well as the Titanic. 

And both causes of the accident are stranded. 

The difference is that the Forfarshire hit the rock and the Titanic hit the iceberg. 

This made a very big difference. 

Thanks to that, the Forfarshire, which hit the rock, kept the water temperature relatively warm. While Grace went to help the passengers twice, they managed to survive. 

If it had hit an iceberg, Grace would not have been able to save as many as nine passengers 

 

In summary, “Grace Darling” has some interesting agenda for discussion. If we have the opportunity, we would like to dig into deeper into this story. 

Henry VIII and His Six Wives

 My name is Catherine Parr.

 A month ago I was the Queen of England, the wife of King Henry the Eighth. 

Henry died and we buried him last week in St George's Church, Windsor.

This book is written about the wives of King Henry.

He had married and divorced many times.

His ex-wives wrote the letters for King Henry.

The last wife find that letters, and read.

I want to marry someday and I don't want to divorce.

The President's Murderer

 "Run!" the man thought. "Move! Faster! I can't stop now."

Over the man's head the night sky was black and cold, and in front of him were the trees.

Tall, dark, trees...five hundred meters away. 

The main character of this story is a police officer, Felix.

He try to arrest the president's murderer, but he can't.

His boss don't hear the idea of Felix, so he get annoyed.

In the middle of the story, we can find the new thing about the murderer.

It was very excited.

The prison was a big, dirty building in the biggest town of a hot country.

The woman was very hot, and she did not like the noise from all the cars in the road.

This is a story of a girl and her mother.

In airport, she and her boyfriend was caught by police.

This is because they had some drug.

However, she had never done the drug.

Why she had drug? 

This title was came from the another name of Drug.

It should be rooted out I think.

Goodbye, Mr Hollywood

 It all began on a beautiful spring morning in a village called Whistler, in Canada- a pretty little village in the mountains of British Columbia.

This story is about a man who visited a beautiful cafe.

He was happy because he saw pretty woman. 

But, in his trip, he had some strange accidents even though he was not bad man.
